Bramall Hall (2)
Bramall Hall (2)

Bramall Hall takes its name from the manor of "Bramale", which was described in the Domesday Book (1086) as belonging to the Massey family, but in the 12th century it passed to the de Bromale family.

In 1370 Alice de Bromale married John de Davenport, and the hall remained in the Davenport family for about 500 years.

The Tudor exterior is most likely the work of the Davenports, but the interior was substantially altered under Charles Neville, a 19th century owner.
